Last week, an enthusiastic team of University of Portland first-year students (led by Swap’s work study student, James) joined us for a morning of garden work as part of their “plunge” into their new North Portland neighborhood. With many helping hands, we completed a tremendous amount of moving and improving! From hauling and raking beautiful cedar chips from Wood Waste Management, placing stumps, weeding, watering, and tending to native plants in our garden beds, these students helped us achieve so much in a short amount of time! We could not have done it all without So, Sydney, Ben, Claire, and James! Go Portland Pilots

Many thanks to UP’s Moreau Center for Service and Justice for organizing the #PlungeIntoYourNeighborhood day of service!
