St. Johns Swapnplay is proud to be aligned with 3 of the UN General Assembly’s Sustainable Development Goals: making quality education accessible,  reducing inequalities, and promoting responsible consumption and production.

From providing quality, developmentally-targeted toys in our space, to offering classes and activities aimed at helping children grow and learn, to hosting special events, like this year’s 8th annual Preschool, Kinder, and Camp Fair- a free opportunity for parents and caregivers to learn about local education programs and organizations in one convenient place- that help connect families to educational opportunities, St. Johns Swapnplay is committed to making education more accessible and equitable for all. No one is turned away for inability to pay. To help reduce economic inequalities, our membership fees are tiered to fit what a family is able to afford, with low-cost and no-cost options for qualifying families.

Our membership model makes quality toys, resources, classes, and activities available to families that otherwise may not have been able to afford them. Our outdoor spaces, including our playground, sensory garden, fairy gardens, rain garden, and pavilion, offer children opportunities to connect with nature while also supporting our environment; our outdoor space is Backyard Habitat Gold Certified, and we installed native plants to support a healthy ecosystem.

We are committed to reducing the financial burden many families face while raising children, while also reducing our environmental impact and consumption; St. Johns Swapnplay serves our community by providing a safe and developmentally appropriate play space for children to socialize, play and learn, while also providing resources and facilitating community resource sharing. Our swapping room and online groups help reduce financial strain on families by making quality toys, clothing, shoes, educational resources, and health & safety gear accessible and free, while also connecting families to other local parents and caregivers, fostering a tight-knit, helpful, caring community. Community events, like the Great Exchange, and community partnerships with environmentally responsible companies and organizations, like Repair PDX, Ridwell, and Earth Day Oregon, help us reach more of our community and have a greater impact!
