Street Painting Project Reveal

We are thrilled to reveal the final product of our community’s hard work! Our street mural, brightening N. Leonard St., between N. New York Ave and N. Chicago Ave, is a beautiful reminder of our vibrant and diverse neighborhood! We are beyond grateful to our neighbors and community members who helped us complete this massive project!

From designing, measuring, mixing, and rolling to chalk sketching at 7am and adding the last drop of paint at 8pm; we couldn’t have done it without you! Plus, a big shout out to Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) Healthy Blocks program, which allowed us to temporarily close the block for painting- and all the other @stjohnsartwalk fun!

Our design incorporates nature elements of the Pacific Northwest which are also nods to Swap, Red Sea Church, Community of Hope, and St. Johns. See if you can guess what the different elements represent. Of course, the design is up to the admirer to interpret! Next time you’re out and about, swing by to see it in person!
